Massage parlor accused of prostitution
Officers conduct undercover sting

ROLLINGWOOD, TEXAS (KXAN) – A local massage parlor has been closed down after the sheriff’s office discovers a review of it on an escort website.
A Travis County Sheriff’s Deputy was checking the online escort review website on August 6 and discovered a review of Massage by DiDi, which is located in Rollingwood.
The reviews included the location of the parlor, and noted that it provides sexual acts in exchange for money.
According to the arrest warrant, the sheriff’s deputy was able to locate an ad for Massage by DiDi in The Chronicle newspaper and on Craigslist. In both ads a phone number was included.

During the operation, officers determined that Li was controlling, supervising and/or managing the prostitution enterprise and is now charged with aggravated promotion of prostitution.

CEDAR PARK, Texas (KXAN) – In a twist of events unexpected by the buyer, a man who solicited a prostitute via Craigslist didn’t get the joy he expected.
When the woman showed up at his apartment, she was flanked by two men — and the trio allegedly robbed the “buyer” instead.
Cedar Park Police were called to an aggravated robbery at 2201 S. Lakeline Blvd . The unnamed victim, 25, told police he was robbed at knife point by two men and a woman — then details about how he met them emerged.
The victim told police he was robbed of $480.

Cedar Park police are searching for three people they say robbed a man who’d solicited a prostitute on Craigslist, according to a media release.
About 12:10 a.m. today, police were called to a report of an aggravated robbery at an apartment complex at 2201 South Lakeline Blvd., the release said.
Police said a 25-year old man told investigators that he solicited a prostitute online, and he was robbed of $480 at knife point when she showed up accompanied by two other men, the release said.
Police said the suspects left in a four-door Honda Civic with tinted windows, according to the release.
No detailed description of the suspects was available. Anyone with information is asked to call Cedar Park police at 260-4794.

Waterbury safe house for women facing auction

Waterbury, Conn. (WTNH) – The women who live at Austin house say the home has been a saving grace and they worry about where they will go if the house is sold.
Donna Morin is one of those women. She is one of three women currently living at Austin House after leaving an abusive relationship.
 ”I don’t know where I would go if I didn’t have this place,” Morin said
The house is a safe haven for women seeking refuge from issues like domestic violence, prostitution and drug addiction Camera Quebec bought the property in 2008 and says she’s helped dozens of women get back on their feet.

AUSTIN — Amid growing evidence that young women and girls in Mexico are being lured into a life of slavery and prostitution in the United States, Gov. Rick Perry on Thursday proposed increasing the penalties for human trafficking in Texas.
Perry said if re-elected he will ask the Legislature to create a new penalty for human trafficking that includes sentences of 25 years to life.
The punishment would be for someone convicted of at least two incidents of human trafficking that occur at least 31 days apart.

Human trafficking most often involves the sex trade, with gangs trapping women in a life of prostitution.
Perry’s proposal would be directed at gang members who run the prostitution rings rather than the clients.

Besides prostitution, some of the individuals are brought into the United States for hard labor in construction and agriculture. Many of the traffickers are believed to be in trans-national gangs.

Cop indicted for Indecent exposure
Police: Exposed himself at gentlemen’s club

AUSTIN (KXAN) – An Austin police officer could face up to 180 days in jail after a Travis County grand jury indicted him for indecent exposure Thursday.
Police say Albert Aguinaga exposed himself during a lap dance at Expose Gentlemen’s Club at 3615 S. Congress Ave. on July 15. The indictment said Aguinaga was “reckless about whether another person was present who would be offended and alarmed by such acts.”
The indecent exposure charge is a Class B misdemeanor. Jurors did not indict Aguinaga on two other original charges – public lewdness and sexual assault.
Austin police say the incident was investigated by the department’s Special Investigations Unit. That group submitted the evidence to the Travis County District Attorney’s Office.

AUSTIN, Texas — A fired Austin police officer convicted of doling out cocaine while on the force faces up to two years behind bars.
A judge in Austin on Sept. 9 will sentence 48-year-old Scott Lando.
Lando was convicted Tuesday of delivery of a controlled substance. The defense is seeking probation.
Investigators say Lando in 2006 gave crack cocaine to an Austin man who was the boyfriend of a prostitute the officer knew. Lando still faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and prostitution.
Lando, who remains free on bail, declined comment after the verdict. He was fired in 2008.

He heard gunshots and saw a man standing in a field with what appeared to be a bulletproof vest and “some sort of semiautomatic rifle,” he said. South Texas mayor arrested for prostitution
EDCOUCH — The mayor of a south Texas town has been charged with official oppression and prostitution for allegedly soliciting women and threatening to have them arrested if they didn’t do what he wanted.
Police on Monday arrested La Villa Mayor Hector Elizondo alleging that he gave one prostitute $10 worth of crack cocaine in exchange for sex and paid another woman $30 on several occasions during the past year for sex.
