Austin Escorts: Neighbors, police team up for big crime drops in South Austin

Filed under: Austin escorts — goodtimegirl at 7:00 am on Monday, November 28, 2011

There has been a 28 percent drop in sexual assaults, from 50 to 36; a 27 percent drop in robberies of businesses, from 51 to 37; a 32 percent drop in nonresidential burglaries, from 524 to 358; and a 23 percent drop in residential burglaries, from 1,800 to 1,382.
The only crime that has increased between last year and now is homicides. Between Jan. 1 and mid-November 2010, the region had five homicides. During the same time period this year, there were 11 homicides. Seven of them have been solved.
Pedraza said officers have increased the number of patrol cars and bicycle cops in neighborhoods and have done more sting operations and undercover work since last year.
They have also targeted motels along I-35 where drugs are sold and patrons engage in prostitution.

Austin Escorts: ‘90210′ Recap: Another Fan-Favorite Couple Calls It Quits!

But it wasn’t all fake-outs and break-ups this week. Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes) vowed to save Dixon (Tristan Wilds) from his crippling addiction to ADHD medication, and just like the Adrianna/Javier duet, we saw “sparks fly.” The duo did things a little differently than I might suggest — they spent the day handcuffed to each other before they got into bed together — but hey, I can’t hold it against them. They’re both addicted… to love.
I’d also like to give Annie (Shenae Grimes) a round of applause for her inspiring actions this week. It’s one thing to accept money and clothes in exchange for dates, but to actually have a guy’s respect too? She’s like Rosie the Riveter — but specifically for collegiate prostitutes. I’ve always said Annie runs this show, and now I’m glad she’s finally proving me right.

Austin Escorts: Beirut Returns to Austin [Show Review]

While the set list for the show was similar to the one at ACL Live – spanning a sampling of their discography with well orchestrated precision – the performance showcased a more familiar execution. The band was playful, but never sloppy, with a crisp vocal/lyrical delivery and more of an emphasis on the rhythm section than on any previous recording that came across more rocking at times than their Balkan safety-zone. The combined talent of the ensemble allows them versatility. Their encore reflected their spectrum of talent with a solo performance of “Penalty” with Condon on ukulele followed by a carnival-eque production of “My Night With The Prostitute From Marseille” and a Latin-fused Bossa Nova jam with wailing brass solos which closed the night. They continue to explore and have fun, and it’s contagious.

Austin Escorts: A note on commenting

Val Lauren stars as the title character, who’s trying to make a comeback in Hollywood after hitting it big in the 1950s in “Rebel Without a Cause” and with the later “Exodus.” The movie doesn’t provide much of a backstory, but it’s clear that Mineo has fallen on hard times. He lives in a small apartment in West Hollywood, and he’s getting ready to star in a theater production with Keir Dullea, who apparently was less than a stellar performer. (Dullea couldn’t remember his lines, Mineo complains.)
Mineo also is trying to get a movie made. And it involves a gay male prostitute. One of the opening scenes deals with Mineo’s insistence that the script remain untouched, despite clear indications from his agent that the studio would like to tone down the material. For those who don’t know, Mineo was one of the first actors in Hollywood to acknowledge his homosexuality.

Austin Escorts: Nearly 30 police cameras to watch crime downtown

Filed under: Austin escorts — goodtimegirl at 2:01 am on Saturday, October 22, 2011

… We feel we will have adequate coverage in that rectangle,” Gay said. “In terms of visibility, the cameras can see from Fourth Street to Eighth Street.”
Police Cmdr. Chris McIlvain , who oversees the downtown patrol officers, called the cameras a “force multiplier” for police.
“With the number of officers downtown, it’s virtually impossible to be where we need to be at all times,” McIlvain said. He said one officer at the crime center can monitor as many as four to eight cameras at a time, which he said is equivalent to having the same number of eyes on the street downtown.
“That’s our main corridor where our visitors and residents come to,” McIlvain said. “The cameras will help us ensure their safety.”
Four cameras were installed near Rundberg Lane in late July to help clean up an area plagued by violent crimes, prostitution and open drug sales.

AUSTIN — The Austin Police Department began installing surveillance cameras in the Entertainment District Thursday.
Inside the Museum of the Weird on 6th Street in downtown Austin, it’s Halloween year round. But owner Steve Busti says his frightening display of other-worldly creatures is no match for what happens just outside the door of his shop.
“We’ve had several cars getting broken into the back; there’s a lot of drugs that go on, prostitution,” Busti said.
Soon, if someone commits a crime in the entertainment district, there is a good probability it will be caught on camera.
On Thursday APD officers began installing 27 surveillance cameras on top of utility poles, buildings, and on traffic lights. The cameras will line 5th, 6th and 7th Streets from Congress to I-35. Officers will monitor the live feeds around the clock from the fourth floor of APD headquarters.

Man charged with attempting to force woman into prostitution

A man has been arrested and charged with multiple felonies after police say he tried to force his girlfriend into prostitution during a road trip, an arrest affidavit filed Monday said.
Sharod Austin, 23, is charged with compelling prostitution, as well as assault by strangulation — charges he denies in the affidavit, which lists him as a transient.

On a train from Arizona to Texas, Austin told the woman that they needed money and that she would have to prostitute herself, the affidavit said.

They arrived in Austin on Oct. 6, the affidavit said. Austin told the woman she would do what he said because “he was God and she had no power,” the affidavit said. Austin then began to compose an ad on Craiglist for prostitution that described her.

AUSTIN (KXAN) – A road trip from California to Texas ended in an arrest after a woman told police she was being forced into prostitution by her travel companion.
According to an arrest report, Austin police were contacted by law enforcement in California who advised they had information about a female in the city who was ”possibly being held against her will and prostituted out.”

She told police that once they were on the trip, the man’s attitude changed from friendly to violent and he told her that once they arrived in Austin she would have to prostitute in order for the pair to have money.

Police arrested Sharod Austin, 24, on charges of compelling prostitution.

Austin Escorts: Police: Man attempted to force girlfriend into prostitution

Filed under: Austin escorts — goodtimegirl at 9:13 pm on Monday, October 17, 2011

A man has been arrested and charged with multiple felonies after police say he tried to force his girlfriend into prostitution during a road trip, according to an arrest affidavit.

As they were traveling from Arizona to Texas by train, Austin told the woman that they needed money and that she would have to prostitute herself, the affidavit said. The woman immediately refused and Austin assaulted her repeatedly, the affidavit said. She tried to call for help but had poor cell phone reception on the train and Austin was monitoring her calls and movements, the affidavit said.
They arrived in Austin on Oct. 6, the affidavit said. On Oct. 12, Austin became “very angry” and told the woman she would have to perform sex acts with “rich guys,” the document said. “(The victim) stated she would rather eat rat poison and die before she did this,” it said. Austin told the woman she would do what he said because “he was God and she had no power,” the affidavit said. Austin then began to compose an ad on Craiglist for prostitution that described her.
