Prostitution charge reduced
The charges against a woman accused of running a prostitution ring in Rollingwood were reduced to misdemeanor prostitution on Jan. 12, according to Travis County court records.
Daifei Li, 45, was charged with aggravated promotion of prostitution, a third-degree felony, in August 2010 after she was arrested in a sting operation on the Rollingwood-based massage parlor she was running.
According to an arrest affidavit for Li, some reviews on an escort review website said that her massage parlor, Massages by DiDi, was providing sexual acts for money. The affidavit alleged that Li was controlling, supervising or managing multiple prostitutes.

Massage parlor busted in sting
A woman who runs a massage parlor in southern Travis County has been charged with prostitution after investigators say she offered sex to undercover officers.
Liu Daiying, 47, was charged with aggravated promotion of prostitution. According to an arrest affidavit, Daiying is named on a property rental agreement for Luxury Massage, located in a strip mall near Interstate 35 and Onion Creek Parkway.
Calls to the shop were not answered.
The Travis County sheriff’s office started an investigation after Daiying posted sexually suggestive advertisements on the website Backpage.com in August, the affidavit said.
Managers of the property called authorities in September after receiving complaints from other tenants.
Two deputies went undercover in the massage parlor. Daiying and another woman offered sex to the officers on separate occasions for $60, the affidavit said.

“We accept that not all people like our store or our art, but for the government to try to legislate our art and our right to free enterprise we feel is inappropriate and illegal,” Kleinman said while addressing the council April 4. According to the ordinance, a sexually oriented business is defined as an “adult arcade, adult theater, adult bookstore, massage parlor, nude studio, modeling studio, love parlor or other similar commercial enterprise, the major business of which is the offering of a service that is intended to provide sexual stimulation or sexual gratification to the customer.”

AUSTIN (KXAN) – Police arrested a woman who works at an East Sixth Street massage parlor an a charge of promoting prostitution.
An arrest affidavit signed Tuesday said Chong Lee Rogers, 61, was charged after an undercover Austin police officer and an unnamed person posed as customers seeking to pay for sex acts at Midnight Cowboy Oriental Massage.
The document also said Austin police had also received an intelligent report from the FBI indicating that the downtown business was engaging in prostitution.
The undercover operation began in January when the officer and the unnamed person were approached by Rogers near the business at 313 E. 6th St. and invited inside.

The writer-director Guo Xiaolu films this chronicle in an unadorned style, as if she and her crew were simply tagging along for the ride; the film flirts with cliche in evoking a familiar modern sensation of drift (an emblematic image: Mei slumped with her backpack by the side of an overpass, watching the cars go by). But Guo’s intelligence is evident in her refusal to portray Mei as either heroic or hateful – and in her division of the story into wryly titled chapters, perhaps a nod to Jean-Luc Godard’s Vivre sa vie (1962).
